Rewardstream is growing, and we’re looking for a great Jr. Systems Analyst to join our team!

Reporting to the VP, Client Services, you will be responsible for configuring client programs using our Loyalty and Recommendation products, writing and maintaining SQL queries and views in an Oracle environment, and developing reports and dashboards in QlikView. You will work as part of the Client Services team interpreting documented business requirements into functioning Loyalty and Recommendation programs, and the data-related tools used by our clients. You’ve dabbled in programming, or web development, and you know your way around a database. You pick things up quickly and can think up innovative solutions to complex problems. You speak geek, but this doesn’t stop you from being able to talk about the business impact of what you are doing.

Responsibilities

• Interpret business requirements, and configure Loyalty and Recommendation programs using RewardStream’s client program designer tools
• Collaborate with Producers and Business Analysts to understand requirements, and then write unit tests and devise solutions to meet client needs
• Provide advice and guidance on effort and system considerations (e.g. performance and maintainability) to implement client requirements
• Write and maintain database queries and views
• Configure client dashboards using QlikView

Skills/Experience

• A technical degree or diploma is not essential, but a technical mindset and a constant desire to learn is a must
• Working knowledge of basic programming concepts such as variables, Boolean & comparison operators, conditional statements, iterative constructs and lists
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL (e.g. Select, Where, Union, Join, Like)
• Basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills are useful to have (e.g. enough to know not to use tables for layouts)
•  Java, C# or Sys Admin skills are a bonus
• An understanding of both the agile and waterfall software development lifecycles. Any exposure to SCRUM, XP / Paired Programming or TDD is very useful
• Strong communication and problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• This role will suit someone who has front-end development skills and would like to broaden their repertoire by writing server side application logic
